  • Located within the boundaries of Minneapolis’s community carshare, Evie.

  • Pedestrian and cyclist-friendly amenities include

    • A wide path gently slopes from the sidewalk to the main entry to more easily get in and out with a bike.

    • Resident bike parking inside and ample guest bike parking out front.

    • Locked bike room includes tools and equipment for tune-ups. 

    • Access to shared  electric cargo bike for hauling larger loads such as groceries. 

    • Overflow space in apartments provides room for extra bikes and gear.

  • First floor apartments have direct outdoor access to let your dog out from the convenience of your home.

  • Grow your own food in easy to reach, raised garden beds 

  • Apple trees offer fresh fruit production, community gatherings, and green boundaries.  The trees produce an abundance of fresh apples, which can be harvested by neighbors spontaneously or as part of a larger gathering.  Espalier apple trees establish edible green walls, creating a unique and functional boundary between apartments.

  • Newly planted trees enhance the urban canopy, support diverse wildlife populations, and mitigate the heat island effect.

  • Balcony gardens add a personal touch of nature to each apartment and extend greenery throughout the building’s facade.

Firefly serves as a hub of neighbors to interact

  • Shared resources for residents include access to an E cargo bike, bike repair station and outdoor gear (like an inflatable paddle board).

  • The quiet backyard has green space for games, grilling, and hanging out.

  • A CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) drop-off, Little Free Library, and dog treat dispenser connect residents and neighbors.  

  • The building is owned and managed by the people who started the project and are rooted in the neighborhood.
